2.5.4 - The Lights of the Wind

Also in Cordoba, Shaykh Muhyiddin got another imaginary scene, where he saw the “lights of the winds”, which are mysterious elemental lights only hidden due to their strong abundance, thus they are not perceived because they overwhelm the eyes. Shaykh Muhyiddin was only able to see these lights in the presence of the Isthmus, but then he says that God has granted him to see these lights in the sense one day in the city of Cordoba, and that a divine distinction due to the inheritance of prophet Mohammedan, peace be upon him.

The Shaykh adds that these lights of winds have the power and strength over all the general children of Adam, but not over the people of God, where these lights will be enclosed into their own lights just like the inclusion of the lights of the stars in the light of the Sun, so the normal sight will not be able to distinguish them due to its weakness. Therefore, when these lights are blurred over some general people they become like dark clouds over them, but when they do not overwhelm the people of God they remain luminous as they are [Futuhat: II.488].

Perhaps these lights, which Shaykh Muhyiddin speaks about here, are what some scientists who study parapsychology claim that there is some halo around the body, especially the head, with certain shape and color related to the psychological and spiritual state of this the person.
