We have previously noted that Shaykh Muhyiddin said that he attended the funeral of Ibn Rushd (Averroes), who died this year on the ninth of Hijri month Safar, corresponding to 11/12/1198, in Marrakesh and was carried to Cordoba. In Chapter 15 of the Meccan Revelations, the Shaykh said that when Ibn Rushd died in Marrakesh and was taken to Seville, the sarcophagus in which his body was placed on one side on the saddle while his books were made to balance on the other side. Shaykh Muhyiddin happen to be watching with some of his companions, so he said to them: Do you see what they put to balance Imam Ibn Rushd on the horse, this means that he is equivalent to his works, then he said in poetry:

This is the Imam and those are his work. Oh, my God, did he even achieved his hopes!
