2.3.10 - Jurisprudence and Theoretical Sciences

In light of the above-mentioned focus of Shaykh Muhyiddin on the hadith, as well as his reliance on the Sufi’s gustatory science of disclosure - or the science of unveiling as we shall mention in section 3.2.7 of Chapter III - he, may Allah be pleased with him, abandoned all kinds of theoretical sciences that rely on “opinion”, such as philosophy and other kinds of intellectual sciences. The Sufis do not involve themselves in the controversy of different conflicting opinions and sayings, but they speak only after insight, as God says at the end of Surah Yusuf: (Say, “This is my way; I invite to Allah with insight, I and those who follow me.”) [Quran, 12:108].

However, the Shaykh, may Allah be pleased with him, wrote some books in Jurisprudence, and he devoted a large part of the book of the Meccan Revelations to talk about the various jurisprudential rulings of worship such as prayer, fasting, charity and pilgrimage, but he did not involve himself in any controversy and his purpose was only to mention the different opinions and then what he prefers. He also wrote some books specialized in jurisprudence, but they are still un-printed, including: “The Secrets of Takbeerat Prayers”, “The Secrets of Wudoo ’and its Pillars”, “The Collector of Judgments in Relation to Halal and Haram”, “The Farewell Argument”, and “The Book of Judgment and Laws”. , “The message of istikhaarah”, “a message in the fundamentals of jurisprudence”, “a message in prayer”, “the white Cam legitimacy. “

The Greatest Shaykh vilified some types of jurists, without specifying any particular name, but he stressed that this is intended only against scholars who were seduced by life and the lower world, and they did not intend their knowledge for God’s face, but intended to gain the fame and prestige of the sultans, as was the case of most of them at various times [See the second half of the first part of the book of the Meccan Revelations, chapters: 69-71]. Also in some dreams that he saw or narrated about some of the righteous, he said, for example, in the book of visions that the righteous man saw the jurists of his county have met and buried the Prophet peace be upon him who died among them, so the man woke up and asked them and found them discussing in a matter of Hajj that had been shown to them according tp the correct hadiths which are not challenged, yet they refused to accept them and they judge according to their opinion...
