5.4.7.4 - Some Other Books He Wrote in This Period

In addition to the books mentioned above, and which we have been able to determine their date composition through the various information stated by Shaykh Muhyiddin either in his introductions or from the hearings registered on some manuscripts, there are many other books which are still missing or their date is unknown, yet they are mentioned in the available history books and in the treatises of the Fihris and Ijaza, in which Shaykh Muhyiddin recorded the titles of hundreds of his books, as listed in the second appendix at the end of this book.

However, it is still possible to determine the approximate period in which some of these books were written, because Shaykh Muhyiddin often mentions some of his books and refers to them in other books that we know the date of their creation.

Some of the books not mentioned above and written by Shaykh Muhyiddin after coming to Mecca and during his travels throughout the Levant, and before settling in Damascus, we mention the following:

item The Book of Eternity: Kitab al-Azal (RG 68). The holograph of Yusuf Aga 4868 was written in 615 AH in Malatya. According to Osman Yahya, based on a note on the manuscript of Veliyuddin 51, this book was written in 601 AH in al-Quds, but other investigation shows that no place or date is given on this manuscript [Jane Clark and Denis McAuley Some Notes on the Manuscript Veliyyudin 51, JMIAS 40, 2006].

item the Book of the Revealing the Results of the Travelings: K. al-Isfar an nataij al-asfar (307). Treatise explaining the principles of spiritual journeying (to, from and in God), and the inner meanings of various divine and prophetic journeys, such as the descent of the Quran, the ascension of Muhammad, the fall of Adam, and the journeys of Idris/Enoch, Noah, Abraham, Lot, Jacob, Joseph and Moses. OY cites 19 mss., verified by three historic mss. The best is Yusuf Aga 4859 which is an IA holograph, with a samaa, but the ms. has been stolen so only a digitised microfilm is now available. Koprulu 713 contains a copy of this ms., dated 663H in Konya. Critical edition by D. Gril, and new edition with translation by Angela Jaffray.
