2.7.2.2 - Surat al-Fatihah Serving Her

In the Holy Spirit, Shaykh Muhyiddin states that her own special chapter of the Quran was: The Opening (al-Fatihah). She once said to his: I was given “The Opening” and I can wield its power in any matter I wish.

Then in the Meccan Revelations he explains further that if she wanted something, she read the Fatihah and then an aerial image will instantly form due to her reading, which will do for her what she orders. Shaykh Muhyiddin recalls a story that happened in front of him when a woman once entered on them and said to him: Look my brother, I was told that my husband is in Jerez de Sidonia, a city in southern Andalusia, is going to marry, what do you see? He said to her: Do you want him to come back? She said yes. Then Ibn al-Arabi at her teacher and said to her, “Oh mother, what do you think about what this woman is saying?” She said: What do you want, my son? He said: can you help her what she needs at this time, and her need is to bring her husband back to her. She said: Hearing and obedience, I shall now send to him the Opening of the Book to I recommend to bring the husband of this woman. Thus she started reading, and Shaykh Ibn al-Arabi read with her. Then Shaykh Muhyiddin says that, as she was reading, she was creating an aerial embodied image that went to fulfill what she wanted. When she created the image, she said to it, “O the Opening of the Book, you go to Jerez and come to the husband of this woman and do not leave him until you come with him.” The Shaykh then says that man only took as far as the road takes him to arrive [Futuhat: II.347-348].
